Pay Rate :

Length of Assignment :

6-9 Months

  • Conducts Audits in accordance Generally Accepted Government Accounting Standards (GAGAS) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS)
  • Understands most audit functions including those which are non-routine; manages several audit projects  simultaneously. Demonstrates ability to handle problems of large and diverse audits while seeking help on unusual or major items. Makes decisions for self and junior auditors with regard to additional time and procedures; brings errors to the attention Audit supervisor and/or provider. Reviews other auditors working papers; and revised cost reports for errors. Helps ensure assigned audits are completed in time allotted; knows what to assign auditor to use his/her time optimally. Recognizes data needs for self and develops plan of work for auditors(s) assigned to them.
  • Presents and defends audit findings to provider using supportive arguments and regulations with minimal input from supervisor. Able to concisely convey substance of work performed by self and auditor and draw conclusions based on the work. Responsible for developing technical competence and constructive work attitudes in self and team; working to build an effective team; sensitive to development needs of individual members of the team.

Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3+ years experience in Medicare auditing
  • Advanced or expert level  of knowledge of GAAP and GASS, as well as an intermediate level of knowledge of GAGAS.
  • Significant knowledge of Medicare fee-for Service reimbursement policies, laws and regulations; working knowledge of Excel, Word Team Mate and Health Financial Systems cost report software.
  • Critical Thinking; judgment and decision making; coordination; analysis; negotiation; problem solving; collaboration
  • Tele-worker; must have own PC equipment
